My First Youtube Tutorial

Hey Craftaholics! I know I have been a bit quiet this week and I apologize, I have been busy trying to figure out how to edit video's. It took me all week to learn the program and come up with something I am happy with, but I have managed to create a tutorial of one of my cards that you may have seen before. The card I made for my first tutorial was a case of the amazing Georgia Giguere back in February's blog hop.

If you are interested in checking out how I made this card you can view my first ever tutorial below!

Now that I have a better understanding of the video process I am hoping to be able to get more cards up to you as well as more video tutorials for you! I'm sorry today's post isn't too detailed but I just wanted to let you know what I've been up to :D

Happy Crafting!

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Georgia Giguere

Welcome to the second Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for February, this time we are have the pleasure of being joined by special guest Georgia Giguere. After scouring her blog of amazing projects, I finally managed to narrow it down to one card I wanted to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) for today's blog hop. I highly recommend having a look around her blog sometime when you have time to spare as she has some amazing cards there, you can get to the blog post that inspired me by clicking the image below.

I hope you have been enjoying the blog hop so far, whether you have been with this hop from the beginning or have only just stumbled across it I highly recommend using the list at the bottom of this post to find your way to all the other amazing creators taking part today.

For today's card i was inspired by Georgia's layout and I wanted to have a play with it, my first instinct was to make a valentines day card with this layout, which I did sit down and do until I realized the day of this hop would be after the fact. I will still put a picture of that card at the bottom but I didn't want that to be the main card knowing it wouldn't help anyone until next year.

Instead I decided to play with the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, I am in love with this bundle it is so much fun and as much as I love using butterflies in projects it's fun having the other option. So without further ado here is my card for the hop, I decided to go with a cooler colour scheme then Georgia's card using one of my favourite colours Island Indigo.

I had so much fun playing with this layout and am so grateful to Georgia for allowing us to Hop with her and CASE her cards. As promised here is the valentines day one I made as well, if I remade this one I would make the forward heart grey for a bit more contrast.

That's it from me for today, make sure you use the list below to check out all the other blogs! If you wanted to make either of my cards you will find lists of the products at the bottom of this post, have a great day and I will see you soon.

Detailed Dragonfly GDP074

Good afternoon! I am in LOVE with the Dragonfly Dreams set and couldn't help but use it for today's card. I spent most of the week pondering what other set to use for this Global Design Project but I kept coming back to Dragonfly Dreams, and once I gave in to that desire putting this card together was easy.

So as you can see today's Global Design Project challenge is a sketch and when I saw this sketch I instantly thought of something sweet soft and very feminine. I started this card by searching through my DSP after all as I said in my last post I haven't used any DSP in any cards this year so far and it was about time i got it out again. I chose one of the pieces from the Falling in Love set as it perfectly matched my idea of soft and feminine for this card.

Once the DSP was chosen, deciding on the colours was easy, I wanted to keep the dragonfly simple but I also wanted it to pop a little so I coloured it in with Wink of Stella before popping it up on a dimensional. I am in love with this card and those who know me will know I am not really a pink person, but here I think it just works so well and I hope you will agree.

I love this sketch from GDP and I think I will have to have a play with it again in the future, maybe try something without the beautiful Dragonfly Dreams Dies at some point. I wasn't sure what sentiment to use until I saw this one from he Feather Together set, it is such a beautiful saying in a gorgeous font and I knew it would suit this card.

That's all from me for today, but come back tomorrow, the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with a very special guest goes live in the morning and you are not going to want to miss it! I hope you all have an amazing, relaxing and crafty weekend.

Dragonfly Dreams GDP073

Hey everyone! So I have a card for you tonight, this was inspired by the Global Design Project 073 Colour Challenge. Let me just say this truly was a challenge for me, these three colours while beautiful are not ones I would usually think to put together all at once, and I actually considered just skipping this challenge thinking it was too hard for me.

However I was thinking to myself tonight while I tried to think of what I wanted to create and I realized, what is the point of doing these challenges if I pick and choose which to do based on the easy ones, where is the challenge in that? Besides, the other cards already in the challenge are all amazing, so why couldn't I step outside my comfort zone and do something cool too?

So I sat myself down and went to the internet where I googled green red and yellow inspiration, I sifted through google images and I found this image that got me thinking that maybe these colours weren't so bad together after all.

I love the vibrancy of this picture and although I wish I could have really captured the intensity of these colours, they aren't the colours for this challenge, but they did help me to come up with this card.

To accomplish this card I used the oh so succulent stamp set to stamp the background using Watermelon Wonder and Daffodil delight. I then used the splatters stamp from Gorgeous Grunge along with versamark and clear embossing powered to add 'water droplets' to the background similar to the inspiration image.

For the dragonfly, I stamped the body with Emerald envy, cut it out using the thinlits and then coloured over the entire thing with Wink of Stella to give it a bit of pop and shine.

Well that's more for tonight, time to crawl into bed before a busy day tomorrow, hope you all have an amazing time.
