Crazy Crafters August Blog Hop

Welcome everyone! I haven't been able to participate in the Crazy Crafters Blog hop since May and man have I missed it! This month however I am back and loving it! This month we went with colour combo's, the team each had to choose a combo from the Stampin' Up! pinterest board, and use that combo to create their projects.

You should have just left the creative space of Laura Britten at Stamping with Laura Jane, if you have you are right on track, if not check out the Full Line up at the end of this blog post to get back on track and make sure you don't miss a thing.

With this blog hop it took me a while to settle on a colour combo, I tried a few and at the time couldn't come up with something I liked, so I simplified and went for the below combo.

I always find myself doing female cards as I find them easier so I decided since I wasn't venturing outside my comfort zone with the colour pallet I would stretch the comfort zone by doing a male card using this pallet.

I decided to use the clockworks stamp set as I thought the gold would really help make this set shine.

When making the card I realised the stamped background behind the clock just didnt have the right oomph and I didn't have any bakers twine which I have seen used to effectively  add that extra little bit without going full on girly ribbon. So as I sat looking around my craft room I noticed to offcuts from my card where I had needed to trim that tiny bit off the edge to get it to the perfect 6" wide I wanted.

Using this under the clock to just set off that patch of red and black stamping I thought was what brought this card up and made it work that much better, just goes to show even the smallest of scraps can be useful if you just think outside the box ;)

I hope you enjoyed my contribution to the blog hop this month and even though this is a simple card maybe you will look at those scraps you usually toss and think of another use for them like I did. If you have any questions or just want to leave your opinion on this card please do so at the bottom in the comments I would love to see your ideas, questions and comments.

Now its time to send you on your way to the ever talented Karen Coulter at Do Lally Crafts  I hope you enjoy seeing the rest of the contributions in the hop and come back to visit soon. Crazy Crafters May Blog Hop

Welcome once again to the Crazy Crafters Blog hop! This month we wanted to show off some of the things that can be accomplished with the ever awesome Stampin' Up! Framelits! I personally love them and anything to do with the big shot in general really I find them so versatile and just love it when I stumble across a new way to use them. I hope the projects you find on this blog hop can inspire you to try something different with your Framelits!

You should have just left the ever talented Michelle Mills at Hello Day Cards if so you are on track if not don't worry you wont miss a thing just use the full line up at the bottom to navigate your way back and hop on track.

My card this month was inspired by a card I stumbled across on Pinterest you can see the blog featuring the card here. I saw this card and just knew I had to try the technique it looked to cool not too!

I apologise for the lovey dovey card this blog hop but as I just got engaged my mind couldn't think of any of the Framelits to work with except the hearts so if your not a lovey dovey person please bear with me and try to just enjoy the technique ;)

I love how this technique is only truly shown as the card is opened, I just think it turn what looks like simple layering when closed into something a little bit cooler.

So there you have it that is my attempt at hopefully showing all you amazingly crafty people a slightly different way to work with your framelits.

Crazy Crafters April Blog Hop

Welcome to the April Crazy Crafters Blog Hop! This month we decided to go with the ever fearful Masculine cards as our theme. If your anything like me coming up with ideas for when you have a card to make for a member of the Male population your mind will come up blank! Therefore we decided to put together this blog hop to help give you and ourselves some inspiration for when you need to make those dreaded cards. So sit back relax and enjoy all the amazing creations from my fellow Crazy Crafters as you hop around our blogs.

You should have just left the amazing Kate Benade at Kate Benade Stampin Up Demonstrator if so you are on track, if not don't worry there is a full line up list at the bottom of this post so you don't have to miss a thing!

When this theme was set I realized I really didnt have any Masculine stamps so it was good for making me go out and order some instead of always ordering the pretty girly ones. The stamp set The Open Sea caught my attention when I was deciding on stamps to order and therefore became my stamp set of choice for this blog hop.

I tried to keep it simple but I also wanted to use all the stamps! I couldn't help myself I just had tooo!! However I did try and do it in an appealing way by using a few of the stamps as backgrounds. with the world stamp behind the sentiment especially I stamped it off twice before actually stamping on the card stock. Without doing this the map was to prominent and the sentiment got lost.

I love the way Crumb Cake and Pacific point work together with this stamp set though I look forward to playing with some more colour combos as well. now if you know the stamp set you might think that as I said I wanted to use all the stamps, from looking at the front I didn't. As much as I wanted to squeeze that awesome little compass in there it was just far to crowded to do that so I showed some self restraint and...

...Put it on the inside instead! I just couldn't help myself I needed the compass on the card and I think it works on the inside don't you? Thank you for checking out my card and if you have any questions on how it was made or measurements feel free to ask, the list of products used can be found below.
Thank you for your time in joining us on our blog hop and I hope you find some inspiration to work on those Masculine cards some more! Now it is time for me to send you on your way to Angela Lorenz at Angs Crafty Cards and again if you are lost the full line up is at the bottom of the blog to help you get around and see all the hop has to offer.
