My First Youtube Tutorial

Hey Craftaholics! I know I have been a bit quiet this week and I apologize, I have been busy trying to figure out how to edit video's. It took me all week to learn the program and come up with something I am happy with, but I have managed to create a tutorial of one of my cards that you may have seen before. The card I made for my first tutorial was a case of the amazing Georgia Giguere back in February's blog hop.

If you are interested in checking out how I made this card you can view my first ever tutorial below!

Now that I have a better understanding of the video process I am hoping to be able to get more cards up to you as well as more video tutorials for you! I'm sorry today's post isn't too detailed but I just wanted to let you know what I've been up to :D

Happy Crafting!

Aim for Alaska Blog Hop - Inspired by Alaska

Welcome to the Aim for Alaska blog hop! First let me tell you a little about Aim for Alaska, it is a training group set up by Kylie Bertucci. In this group there is a wealth of knowledge from Kylie and her guest speakers designed to help demonstrators reach their goals within Stampin' Up! For me the group has helped me get serious about blogging more and has given me the push to jump in and give online classes a go.

The theme for this hop is to just be inspired by Alaska, whether it is the animals, nature, or even the ship so many demonstrators are going to get to go on soon. Now I spent a while googling images of Alaska and staring at my Stampin' Up! collection thinking about this theme. For me I just kept coming back to the stunning images of the Northern Lights over Alaska and I decided to try and recreate them using the Stampin' Up! watercolour pencils.

I started out just playing with a background, laying down colour with the watercolour pencils and then blending it out with water. Once I was happy with the colours I added the tree's in black by dipping the tip of the black watercolour pencil into water as I went to get the best colour payoff. I was originally going to use this piece as just a background and layer things on top, however once it was done I decided against it.

To get the starts in the sky I squeezed out a small dot of Stampin' Up! white craft reinker onto my stamp-a-ma-jig clear sheet and used a dotting tool to pick the ink up and dot it around the sky (you could also use a toothpick). I decided to simply stamp a sentiment, and add some Wink of Stella and add a few pearls to the sky to emphasize some of the stars I had added using the reinker. Lastly I decided to place a strip of metallic ribbon from the Sale-a-Bration catalog to add a little extra bling and somewhat represent the snow covered ground in front of the tree's.

I will be doing a live video class sometime on how simple this watercolour background was to make, so please contact me if your interested in viewing the video and I can get the details to you and keep you updated.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Rachel Tessman

Goodmorning! and welcome to another Crazy Crafters Blog Hop! It is so amazing being part of the Crazy Crafters team and being able to do these hops with such amazing people! Today we get to hop with special guest Rachel Tessman, she has such an amazingly wide range of projects on her blog it was seriously hard to decide which one I wanted to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit). After scrolling through her extensive blog, going back and forth for sometime I decided on the below card, I love the fold and use of DSP and wanted to have a go.

While I love Rachel's bold card I wanted to soften things up a bit for mine as I am in love with the Falling in Love DSP and wanted an excuse to use it. This paper pack is just so stunning I can't get enough of it!

I started out with the basic fold of this card using this beautiful lace DSP, once I had the skeleton I went through my dies to decide on which one to use. My first instinct was to reach for my Detailed Dragonflies as I am obsessed with that set. However after I rediscovered this one in my stash I knew this fold and this DSP would make a super cute wedding card.

I love the way this card came together and I hope you do to, it was so much fun playing with this Double Fold Gate Card, I have been mostly making simple fold cards lately and although I love the simple cards it was super fun playing with this fun fold, I think I will need to make some time every now and then to have a fun folds play day.

I hope you have enjoyed my little contribution to this amazing hop, but don't stop here, if this was your first stop make sure you use the list below to find the beginning and view all the amazing projects, and if you have come here through the hopping process use the links to continue on your way to the next amazing blog and don't forget to leave the amazing girls and guys in this hop a quick note, we all love reading your sweet comments.

Inside the Lines GDP078 & CI05

I hope everyone is have a great night! I have spent the afternoon in my craft room colouring in the Stunning Inside the Lines paper from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. Once again I am combining a few challenges together to bring you today's card. We have a mix of a beautiful sketch challenge from the amazing designers over at Global Design Project and a stunning colour challenge from Colour INKspiration.

I absolutely adore this beautiful soft colour scheme and when I saw the Global Design Projects Sketch I knew I wanted to team these two up! It took me a while to come up with an idea I was happy with but once I did I loved it and colouring in the beautiful Inside the Lines paper was so relaxing I lost track of the time.

I originally only wanted to colour in a few of the flowers to match the sketch more but I found the colouring so fun and relaxing that before I knew it the whole panel was coloured in. I love the way it turned out anyway though, and I hope you do too.

1st Facebook Live Demonstration

Heya everyone! So last night I dove in the deep end and did my first ever Facebook Live Demonstration! I was absolutely terrified but it was a lot of fun and I loved being able to show the process of making my cards instead of just the finished product. So I intend to try and make it a regular thing, those who have joined my Sarahrious Crafts Live group over on Facebook are voting on what day suits them best for me to do these video's and I am excited to plan the next one!

In this first one I showed them how to make this card that I blogged about on the 24th of February.

As I had already given away the yellow version I posted that day I made a green version ahead of time and then during the video we made a pink and purple card as per one of my viewers request. I am so thrilled with how my first Facebook Live turned out, and while I definitely have room for improvement I felt good doing it and after so much fear over trying it and I am now so excited for the next one.

One issue I did have was my internet kept glitching resulting in some parts of the video being rather hard to see which is a shame. I was all ready to have a talk with my husband about organizing for him to maybe stay off the internet just while I do these videos, but then I walked out the where we keep our wifi modem and I saw the power cord that runs to it... turns out I needed to have a talk with my adorably naughty beagles. They had chewed the cord to the below extent, and had me wondering firstly, how are you two still alive and not hurt in any way? and secondly how did my internet still work at all!?

So I went to work at Bunnings today and picked myself up a new cord as well as some of those plastic cord tidy half circle tubes and our extension lead is now well out of reach of the puppies, so unless they learn to climb walls this technical issue hopefully wont be a reoccurring one. If your interested in joining in the next one be sure to head over to my Facebook group and add yourself into the fun! If you want to watch any on my Facebook Live video's back you can do so on the group or by checking out my Youtube.
