1st Facebook Live Demonstration

Heya everyone! So last night I dove in the deep end and did my first ever Facebook Live Demonstration! I was absolutely terrified but it was a lot of fun and I loved being able to show the process of making my cards instead of just the finished product. So I intend to try and make it a regular thing, those who have joined my Sarahrious Crafts Live group over on Facebook are voting on what day suits them best for me to do these video's and I am excited to plan the next one!

In this first one I showed them how to make this card that I blogged about on the 24th of February.

As I had already given away the yellow version I posted that day I made a green version ahead of time and then during the video we made a pink and purple card as per one of my viewers request. I am so thrilled with how my first Facebook Live turned out, and while I definitely have room for improvement I felt good doing it and after so much fear over trying it and I am now so excited for the next one.

One issue I did have was my internet kept glitching resulting in some parts of the video being rather hard to see which is a shame. I was all ready to have a talk with my husband about organizing for him to maybe stay off the internet just while I do these videos, but then I walked out the where we keep our wifi modem and I saw the power cord that runs to it... turns out I needed to have a talk with my adorably naughty beagles. They had chewed the cord to the below extent, and had me wondering firstly, how are you two still alive and not hurt in any way? and secondly how did my internet still work at all!?

So I went to work at Bunnings today and picked myself up a new cord as well as some of those plastic cord tidy half circle tubes and our extension lead is now well out of reach of the puppies, so unless they learn to climb walls this technical issue hopefully wont be a reoccurring one. If your interested in joining in the next one be sure to head over to my Facebook group and add yourself into the fun! If you want to watch any on my Facebook Live video's back you can do so on the group or by checking out my Youtube.

I hope you all have an amazing Sunday night and I look forward to seeing you in the next blog post! Happy Crafting!

Watercolour Wings GDP075 & CI04

Good Evening! I hope you have all had an amazing week, I have been getting into exercise and my muscles are killing me, so after a busy day I was so happy to relax in my craft room and do a little creating. For today's project I decided to have a little fun and combine 2 challenges that I thought would go together beautifully. First off I drew inspiration from the Global Design Project and their Winged Creatures themed challenge. Now my automatic response was to reach for my Dragonfly Dreams set, however I decided to make myself use my more neglected Watercolour Wings set instead.

My second challenge I drew inspiration from was the Colour INKspiration challenge, they are a challenge group set up on facebook as apposed to the normal blog situations. When I saw their colour challenge for this week I knew I had to challenge myself to give it a try, firstly because it is a colour combination I would not usually think to use together and I wanted to give it a try, and secondly because I have Delightful Dijon card stock overflowing from my paper stack and I have never used it, so why not drag it out and give it a try.

Now you know the reasoning behind me trying out these challenges I think we should get onto showing you what I came up with. Throughout the process of making this card I was constantly thinking I didn't like it, that the way I was using the colours wasn't working and I was convinced it would turn out terrible.

By the time I glues it all together and started taking photo's of it I was finally beginning to like it and although it is out of my normal comfort zone I am very happy with the end results.

I decided to bling this card up a little bit with the amazing wink of stella! I am almost out of my first pen of this magical glimmery perfection and definitely need to get more! I also decided to use some pearls down the middle of my butterfly, just to add a little bit more to the card, I tossed up using rhinestones instead but I just love the look of the pearls so much and couldn't go past them.

Finally I added one of the smaller butterflies to the inside of the card just so it didn't feel neglected, I originally made a few of these smaller butterflies for the front until I realized it would look way too crowed if I was to put them on, so I decided to use them to jazz up the inside instead of just pushing them to the side and not using them.

That's all from me for today, however the morning promises a hot 40 degree day here in WA so I will be hiding out in the craft room with the air-con on all day so will hopefully have some finished pieces to share with you then.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend and happy creating

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Georgia Giguere

Welcome to the second Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for February, this time we are have the pleasure of being joined by special guest Georgia Giguere. After scouring her blog of amazing projects, I finally managed to narrow it down to one card I wanted to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) for today's blog hop. I highly recommend having a look around her blog sometime when you have time to spare as she has some amazing cards there, you can get to the blog post that inspired me by clicking the image below.

I hope you have been enjoying the blog hop so far, whether you have been with this hop from the beginning or have only just stumbled across it I highly recommend using the list at the bottom of this post to find your way to all the other amazing creators taking part today.

For today's card i was inspired by Georgia's layout and I wanted to have a play with it, my first instinct was to make a valentines day card with this layout, which I did sit down and do until I realized the day of this hop would be after the fact. I will still put a picture of that card at the bottom but I didn't want that to be the main card knowing it wouldn't help anyone until next year.

Instead I decided to play with the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle, I am in love with this bundle it is so much fun and as much as I love using butterflies in projects it's fun having the other option. So without further ado here is my card for the hop, I decided to go with a cooler colour scheme then Georgia's card using one of my favourite colours Island Indigo.

I had so much fun playing with this layout and am so grateful to Georgia for allowing us to Hop with her and CASE her cards. As promised here is the valentines day one I made as well, if I remade this one I would make the forward heart grey for a bit more contrast.

That's it from me for today, make sure you use the list below to check out all the other blogs! If you wanted to make either of my cards you will find lists of the products at the bottom of this post, have a great day and I will see you soon.

Challenge Mashup with Ribbon Roses

Good evening! I hope everyone has had an fun Saturday, I have had a busy one. Started out face painting at my baby second cousins 3rd birthday, then it was off to work at Bunnings for the evening. I got home to a roast dinner waiting for me courtesy of my amazing husband, so after a fun day and with a full belly I sat down to get some crafting done.

I decided to combine two challenges I came across into one for this card, a sketch challenge from CAS(E) this sketch and a colour challenge from Color Throwdown, you can click on the challenge photo's below to check out their pages and the other entries.

I got some advice today from the talented Gail Davidson that I should try using some of my other artistic pursuits in my cards so I wanted to give that a go with this card while still keeping it as clean as possible for this sketch challenge. So for this card I thought back to my wedding and all the ribbon roses I made, I thought it would be fun for those roses to make a comeback in this card.

I spend hours making ribbon roses of all different sizes for my Wedding and I thought they would be an amazing way to use the Stampin' Up! ribbon in a different way. It always looks amazing added to cards as an accent bow, strip or knot but I thought it would be fun to use the ribbon as the main star and back it up with the stamps for something a little different.

I am thinking about doing a live video over on facebook sometime in the future on how to make these roses, if that would be something you would be interested in please let me know. All you need for these little guys is some ribbon, a hot glue gun and some Stampin' Up! pearls to give their centers a little bit of bling, though they can totally be left without the pearls if you prefer.

If you would be interested in seeing these roses made live, as well as other techniques in the future please leave me a comment and/or send me an email at sarahraeburnett@gmail.com with your contact information, and if there is interest I will look into setting up a Sarahrious Crafts Techniques Group where I can share this and other techniques with you live.

For now though I am off to bed as I only have 5 hours before I will be dragged out of it to go back to work :) hope you all enjoy your Sunday, happy Stamping.
