Kylie's International Blog Highlight - Wedding Card

Click here to vote for your favourite!

Theme - Wedding

Hey craft lovers! Welcome back to my blog, today I am sharing with you my entry for Kylie Bertucci's International Highlights. This is an amazing blog event she runs once a month where stampers from all over get to make cards to be voted on in the hopes of being able to join in a very special blog hop for the top 10.

This months theme for the highlights is Wedding, I just recently ordered in the beautiful glitter paper and just had to use it teamed with the Bloomin' Hearts Thinlits to create my card today. You can view all of the entries and cast your vote for your favourites over at Kylie's blog

I wanted to dress the inside of the card a little too so added a strip of the beautiful silver glitter paper. I am a bit of a glitter addict myself and I'm not sure why it took me so long to get this paper but now that I have I will be keeping it well stocked!

That's all from me for today, please make sure you head over to Kylie's blog and see everyone else's entries and vote for your favourite!

Video tutorial Friday - Big on Birthdays

Good morning Craft Lovers! I decided 3 weeks ago to start making youtube tutorials on my cards, as I wanted to be able to share with you the process of how I make my cards and not just the finished process. I have decided to try and commit to a video every Friday and so far so good! This is my Third video since starting this and I would love for you to check it out along with my other two if your interested.

Now lets have a closer look at the card I made for this tutorial. This was a super fun one to do as my friend Charlotte came over in need of a card for her mum. She chose the colour and stamp set she wanted to use and then we started brainstorming. Once we had a plan we set the camera up and started crafting. Charlotte was a bit unsure, not wanting to work on the card in case she messed it up but I managed to convince her to jump in a few times and have a go. I'm hoping next time to convince her to make the card all by herself, I know she can do it.

I love the way this card came out, and that I got to record it with the help of Charlotte, it's so much fun crafting with friends and changes the whole experience. If you live near Gosnells, and want to try making your own card let me know I love sharing my craft room and love for card making with others.

Crazy Crafters Blog Hop with special guest Mikaela Titheridge

Hey Craft lovers! welcome to todays Crazy Crafters Blog Hop! Today we are hopping with special guest Mikaela Titheridge over at The Crafty oINK Pen! It was an absolute pleasure looking through her amazing blog at all her wonderful projects! No matter how far back I went I kept coming back to the same project of hers and I knew that this was the one I had to case for today's project.

I love the simplicity of this card and the use of embossing folders, I only have two myself at the moment and I always forget to use them, reaching for my stamps and pretty papers instead. I wanted to make use out of the folders I have so I thought this card would be a great way to get me into using them.

I love the way this turned out and I think I will have to use the embossing folders a little more from now on. My cousin's baby boy turned 1 yesterday and i needed a card for him so I thought this would be a cool layout to work with.

I hope you enjoyed my contribution to this hop! Make sure you don't miss any of the amazing projects, so whether you started here or have been hopping around the other blogs already please use the list below to navigate your way around to them all! I know I will be!

My First Youtube Tutorial

Hey Craftaholics! I know I have been a bit quiet this week and I apologize, I have been busy trying to figure out how to edit video's. It took me all week to learn the program and come up with something I am happy with, but I have managed to create a tutorial of one of my cards that you may have seen before. The card I made for my first tutorial was a case of the amazing Georgia Giguere back in February's blog hop.

If you are interested in checking out how I made this card you can view my first ever tutorial below!

Now that I have a better understanding of the video process I am hoping to be able to get more cards up to you as well as more video tutorials for you! I'm sorry today's post isn't too detailed but I just wanted to let you know what I've been up to :D

Happy Crafting!

Aim for Alaska Blog Hop - Inspired by Alaska

Welcome to the Aim for Alaska blog hop! First let me tell you a little about Aim for Alaska, it is a training group set up by Kylie Bertucci. In this group there is a wealth of knowledge from Kylie and her guest speakers designed to help demonstrators reach their goals within Stampin' Up! For me the group has helped me get serious about blogging more and has given me the push to jump in and give online classes a go.

The theme for this hop is to just be inspired by Alaska, whether it is the animals, nature, or even the ship so many demonstrators are going to get to go on soon. Now I spent a while googling images of Alaska and staring at my Stampin' Up! collection thinking about this theme. For me I just kept coming back to the stunning images of the Northern Lights over Alaska and I decided to try and recreate them using the Stampin' Up! watercolour pencils.

I started out just playing with a background, laying down colour with the watercolour pencils and then blending it out with water. Once I was happy with the colours I added the tree's in black by dipping the tip of the black watercolour pencil into water as I went to get the best colour payoff. I was originally going to use this piece as just a background and layer things on top, however once it was done I decided against it.

To get the starts in the sky I squeezed out a small dot of Stampin' Up! white craft reinker onto my stamp-a-ma-jig clear sheet and used a dotting tool to pick the ink up and dot it around the sky (you could also use a toothpick). I decided to simply stamp a sentiment, and add some Wink of Stella and add a few pearls to the sky to emphasize some of the stars I had added using the reinker. Lastly I decided to place a strip of metallic ribbon from the Sale-a-Bration catalog to add a little extra bling and somewhat represent the snow covered ground in front of the tree's.

I will be doing a live video class sometime on how simple this watercolour background was to make, so please contact me if your interested in viewing the video and I can get the details to you and keep you updated.

I hope you had fun visiting my blog and I know you are going to love the other projects in this hop so don't forget to use the list below to find your way through all the blogs, you do not want to miss a project.
